From Julius Erving who helped legitimize the American Basketball Association and was the best-known player in that league when it merged with the National Basketball Association after the 197576 season comes this spectacular "Dr. J" Converse All-Star game-worn and signed shoe. The only player voted Most Valuable Player in both the ABA and the NBA Erving won three championships four MVP Awards and three scoring titles in his 16 years divided between the ABA's Virginia Squires and New York Nets (now the NBA's Brooklyn Nets) and the NBA's Philadelphia 76ers. He is the sixth-highest scorer in ABA/NBA history with 30026 points (NBA and ABA combined)and was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame in 1993. He has signed the shoe on the outside of the right heel penning "Julius 'Dr. J' Erving" in blue ballpoint adding his No. 6 inscription. The red leather Converse star graphic elements and logo on the back of the heel are all in superb condition. The shoe shows some game use but remain remarkably pristine and with all elements intact and largely as-issued right down to the delicate red leather graphic components. This is a great piece in simply superb condition from one of the most revered players in NBA history.
