The 1980 Philadelphia Eagles finished with a record of 12-4, capturing the NFC East title for the first time in franchise history since the division was formed. This was the Eagles third consecutive playoff appearance under head coach Dick Vermeil, and the best finish in the Vermeil era. The Eagles cruised past the Vikings in the divisional round, 31-16, and stifled the Cowboys, 20-7, in the NFC Championship before ultimately falling short against the Raiders in Super Bowl XV.

Featured here is a Philadelphia Eagles 1980 NFC Championship ring presented to famous stand-up comedian and actor Don Rickles. The Eagles' former owner, Leonard Tose, was close friends with Rickles and had this ring specially made for him. The 10-karat gold ring features an eagle clutching a diamond-studded football set atop a green stone on the face. The words "PHILADELPHIA EAGLES N.F.C. CHAMPIONS" encircle the crown. One shank has "SUPER BOWL XV," the Lombardi trophy, and "1980." The other side features "RICKLES," the score of the NFC Championship, an Eagles helmet, and "1980" again. The 10K yellow gold hallmark and Jostens logo are engraved inside the band. The size 9.25 ring weighs 44 grams and comes in near pristine condition with very little, if any, wear. Our consignor acquired this ring at auction from the Rickles estate.
