1980 Louisville Cardinals 10K Gold NCAA Basketball Championship ring presented to forward Derek Smith. Smith started all 36 regular season games for the Cardinals and led the team in rebounding. He was taken with the 35 pick in the 1982 NBA draft by the Golden State Warriors. Large real diamond at center of a sunburst type design with 8 smaller real diamonds at the edge. "1980 NCAA CHAMPIONS" around the top. "SMITH" "43" "LOUISVILLE 59 UCLA 54" and raised image of a basketball player on one side with "UNIVERSITY OF LOUISVILLE" "33-3" and a raised image of the Louisville cardinal mascot on the other. Inside stamped "JOSTENS 10K". Ring size 13 1/4. Weight 30 grams.
