From Jerry Colemans sole season as the manager of the San Diego Padres comes this classic brown road jersey accented by the famous Padres color scheme and further enhanced by a smart Coleman black Sharpie autograph on the collar. An infielder for the great Yankees teams in the 1950s he was named Rookie of the Year in 1949 and was an All-Star the following season. He appeared in six World Series during his career winning four times. Coleman a decorated Marine Corps pilot during the Korean War would become a noted broadcaster following his retirement from the game earning the Hall of Fame nod to the so-called Broadcasters Wing in Cooperstown in 2005. This wonderful brown road gray knit is richly accentuated in yellow and orange sleeve-edge and collar trim. Padres (in same two-color tackle twill) appears across the front and his No. 2 appears on the back also two-color tackle twill. Colemans name is across the back in gold tackle twill affixed to a brown nameplate. At the back of the collar is a Wilson label indicating Size 42 and situated on the lower left front tail is a brown strip tag with embroidered 2 80. Shirt shows appropriate manager's wear and is a handsome example of the unique jersey styling that the Padres brought to the National League in that decade. Comes problem-free without alteration.
