Mike Schmidt belongs to the elite 500 Home Run Club after hitting a total of 548 home runs in his career. In 1979 the burly 6’ 2” Philadelphia Phillies 29-year-old third baseman Mike Schmidt  launched 45 home runs drove in 114 runs and led the league in walks with 120. He also scored 109 runs for good measure. The ’79 season was a singular success for the Hall of Fame bound slugger even though the Phillies themselves finished in fourth place in the N.L. East standings with a record of 84-78.

Presented here is a high-grade Louisville Slugger "K75” pro model Schmidt block-letter (last name only) gamer from that late 70's era. The two-toned ash bat shows excellent game use with ball cleat bat-rack and deeply embedded stitch marks throughout. Schmidt’s number "20" is written on the knob in faded black marker. This bat was presented by former Major League umpire Eric Gregg to his cousin after a Phillies-Cardinals game in the late 1970's.

A letter from the owner who purchased the bat from Gregg’s cousin accompanies the bat. Additional LOA from John Taube of PSA/DNA with GU 9 grade.
