The brother of Eddie Murrays Orioles teammate Dave Skaggs obtained this bat directly from Murray in the clubhouse at Memorial Stadium during Murrays rookie season of 1977. His letter of provenance accompanies the bat. The Hillerich & Bradsby model W248 Eddie Murray professional model bat exhibits evidence of light use with a handle crack. A few ball marks and ball stitch impressions are visible on the left and back barrel. Cleat marks are visible on the right and left barrel. This early career H&B model W248 with a Hornsby finish was used by Murray beginning on February 22nd 1977 and used by Eddie on a consistent basis through June of 1979. The aforementioned documentation however confirms this as having been used in Murrays rookie season. Consistency durability and dominance characterized the career of Eddie Murray. One of baseball's most productive hitters from the 1970s through the '90s when he retired Murray was only the third player to have collected both 3000 hits and 500 home runs. Murray was a stalwart at first base for 13 seasons for the Orioles capturing a world championship with Baltimore in 1983.

Includes a LOA from John Taube of PSA/DNA.
