The USC Trojans football team has enjoyed phenomenal success over the years. Three such campaigns included 1976 79 and 85 when the Trojans were crowned Rose Bowl champions. This lot includes three different Trojan-emblazoned team-signed footballs from each of those seasons. The first from 1976 is signed in red ink by 36 members of the team including Heisman Trophy runner-up Ricky Bell. The signatures show serious fading due to too much exposure to sunlight although most remain readable. The second football from 1979 includes one white panel and is a commemorative Rose Bowl ball emblazoned with ROSE BOWL 1979 USC VS. MICHIGAN. The football boasts dozens of signatures in black ink from the 79 team including Heisman Trophy winning running back Charles White. Most signatures are legible although the ball shows some discoloration over time. The third and final ball from the 85 campaign also boasts dozens of signatures although the ball is severely damaged by the sun and almost all the signatures have faded seriously as a result.
