The Southern California Sun football team was part of the short lived World Football League (WFL) that began in 1974 and folded half way through the 1975 season. In the season and a half that they existed the Sun competing in the Western Division had records of 13-7 in 74 and 7-5 in75. Some of the notable players who competed for the Sun were Anthony Davis Pat Hayden and Daryle Lamonica. This lot features a game-worn jersey belonging to 26-year-old safety Stan Brown. The white mesh jersey size X-Large features Browns uniform number 48 on the front back and on both sleeves in purple ironed-on numbers outlined in red. On the front left tail are two Sand Knit manufacturing tags read Designed & Tailored Exclusively for the WORLD FOOTBALL LEAGUE and Size X-Large Sand Knit complete with washing instructions. His last name BROWN appears across the shoulders in ironed-on fuchsia letters. The gamer certainly shows its age with plenty of perspiration stains and a few dirt stains on the front and back.
