This one has Redbird history written all over it: a Cardinals game-worn warmup jacket from Bob Gibson from 1975 his final year in St. Louis and the end of a Hall of Fame career that included 251 wins 3117 strikeouts and a 2.91 earned run average. A nine-time All-Star and two-time World Series champion he won two Cy Young Awards and the 1968 National League (NL) Most Valuable Player Award after turning in perhaps the greatest individual year any pitcher ever had in the postwar era ... or maybe any era. That's what you get with an ERA of 1.12 and 13 shutouts in more than 300 innings pitcher.Imagine then the great Gibby wearing this blazing Cardinal red jacket during that farewell season in 1975. The jacket is game worn but has been maintained for nearly four decades in just impeccable condition. The iconic red Rawlings tag appears at the inside of the inside tail of the bottom of seven snaps; A Rawlings white "Adult X-Large" flag tag is attached at the bottom. The Cardinals' distinctive "Batting Redbird" is on the front in finely embroidered red yellow black and white. "Gibby" and his No 45 have been hand written in black marker on the inside of the collar. It's difficult to imagine such a piece being maintained in any better condition that this.
