ADDENDUM: Graded A10 by MEARS. LOA now posted.
Outfielder Willie Crawford had a 14-year career in the big leagues, spending the first dozen of those seasons in Dodger Blue. His best season came in 1973 and '74 when he batted .295 with 14 homers and 66 RBI in 145 games followed by the same .295 average, 11 dingers and 61 ribbies. In the 1974 World Series, Crawford batted .333 with a home run as L.A. fell to the A's. He finished up his solid career with short stints in St. Louis, Houston and Oakland.
Presented here is Crawford's game worn Los Angeles Dodgers home jersey from the '74 season. The white knit button-down garment features the club's unique tackle twill identifiers with proper tagging. "Dodgers" is sewn across the chest in blue tackle twill with a lengthy paraph to accent the script-style mascot name. In like fashion, "27" is sewn to the back and "CRAWFORD" is arched just above in block letters. On the right chest, "27" is sewn in red tackle twill. (This two-color number style was unique to the Dodgers until later adopted by the Montreal Expos in 1979.) Behind the collar is the local W.A. Goodman & Sons tag indicating size "42" with the wash instructions. On the left front tail is a white strip tag with "Set C '74" to denote the set No. and year issued. The shirt exhibits obvious signs of game usage with some sweat staining, soil spotting, and puckering to the letters and numbers. Comes with a MEARS LOA graded a perfect A10.
