Rob Rensenbrink was one of the most technically gifted attackers of the 1970's, a left-footed wizard whose performances for the Netherlands in the 1974 and 1978 World Cups cemented his legend. Offered here is one of his match-worn #15 home jerseys from the same year that the Oranje made a memorable run to the 1974 World Cup Final. It was largely Rensenbrink and Johan Cruyff who revolutionized the sport with "Total Football."
The short-sleeve orange jersey is constructed of cotton with the classic Adidas three-stripe design running over the shoulders in black and gold. The embroidered Dutch lion crest sits on the left chest, rendered in crisp black on a white background. The back carries an oversized black and white felt number "15" in the block style of the era. Rensenbrink has signed the back in bold black marker, inscribing "W.C. 74" above his full signature. The jersey shows genuine game wear and has been authenticated by MEARS. A wonderful artifact from the golden era of Dutch football.
