Bill Walton came into the NBA with an NCAA resume unlike any other. The 6'11" center won two National Championships at UCLA and was a 3-time college player of the year helping him earn the #1 overall pick in the 1974 NBA draft. The Portland Trailblazers selected him and it took only three seasons for Walton to lead his Cinderella Blazers to their first and only NBA title. His first two years however were marred by injury. Still the signs of stardom were there from day one. Walton averaged 12.8 points 12.6 rebounds 4.8 assists and 2.7 blocks in 35 games as a rookie and he did so wearing the shoes featured here. Each white leather Adidas (red leather stripes) low-top shoe has a Bill Walton signature in blue ballpoint near the outside of the toe. Both remain with all elements intact and largely as-issued and problem free with the intricately cut red leather stripes (3) on each side and the stamped Adidas manufacturer's label on the tongue. In 1976 Walton began to wear a high-top version of these red-striped Adidas to give his ankles and feet more support.
