The first card in the 1972 Topps basketball set belongs to the game's most unstoppable force, and this PSA NM 7 example of Wilt Chamberlain's final major-issue card delivers the legendary big man in his Los Angeles Lakers gold. Card #1 of any set carries special significance, and this one features Chamberlain in a commanding pose against the set's signature sky-blue background, with the bold green "LAKERS" banner below. The reverse confirms career totals of 30,335 points and 22,298 rebounds — both NBA all-time records at the time of issue.

 

At PSA NM 7, the card exhibits sharp corners with minimal rounding, clean surfaces, and good centering. Minor wear consistent with the grade is present but does not detract from the card's bold visual impact. Wilt Chamberlain's 1972 Topps card is the definitive cornerstone of any vintage basketball collection — the final mainstream issue of the greatest big man in basketball history.
