Featured here is a 1972 Brazil National Team jersey donned by the great Rivellino, who starred for Seleção from 1965 to 1978 and led Brazil alongside Pelé to the 1970 FIFA World Cup title in Mexico. We are unsure which game this was worn, but most likely an  international friendly. The attacking midfielder known for his wavy mustache, Rivellino is widely regarded as one of the most graceful and charismatic football players ever to grace the pitch. With exceptional control and dribbling ability, he showcased a plethora of playmaking skills such as bending free kicks, long-range shots, accurate distance passing, and uncanny vision. He perfected a move called the "flip flap" later emulated by Romário, Mágico González, Ronaldo, Ronaldinho and Cristiano Ronaldo. Diego Maradona named Rivellino among his greatest inspirations growing up.

From the Jose Maria Rodriguez "Ze Maria" collection, this jersey features some nice elements of match-use with some staining and soiling throughout. Properly tagged by Athleta os Sao Paulo, the yellow shirt features the CBD (Brazilian Sports Confederation) crest on the chest with three stars above commemorating the three World Cup titles won by Brazil at that point (now they have five). An important fun fact that may come in handy one day if you're into sports trivia: Rivellino was the first Brazilian to don the famous number 10 post Pelé! He sported the No. 11 shirt during the 1970 World Cup and switched to No. 10 when Pelé retired from National Team play in 1971. Comes with a letter of provenance from Ze Maria and an LOA from MEARS.
