This 1972 Munich Olympics participation medal presents in NM-MT condition. It is made from stainless steel and has simple design from Fritz Koenig. The obverse shows Munich Olympic emblem--a wreath of rays with superimposed spiral over the German legend ("XX. Olympiade - Munchen 1972" in black. The reverse depicts Olympic rings over two hands one holding a stylized olive branch. Weight is 144 grams diameter is 49mm and thickness is 10mm. Minted by Krupp. 7894 athletes participated. Includes original Lucite case with designer and material labeled on white tape in German.
