The San Diego Conquistadors were the 10th professional basketball team to enter the old ABA and the first expansion team added to its list of teams. Their first season on record was the 1972-73 campaign when they were coached by Basketball Hall of Famer K.C. Jones. Led the by likes of Stu Johnson and Chuck Williams the team struggled in its first year and posted a record of 37-45 good enough for a fourth place finish in the ABA”s Western Division standings. This lot feature a team-signed Official ABA (Dolph) red white and blue basketball that boasts 14 signatures including coaches Jones and Alex Groza as well as Williams Johnson Larry Miller and Simmie Hill.
Includes Letter of Provenance from the San Diego Hall of Champions.
