Rod Carew lined chopped and bunted his way to 3053 career hits. His seven batting titles are surpassed only by Ty Cobb Tony Gwynn and Honus Wagner and equaled only by Rogers Hornsby and Stan Musial. He used a variety of relaxed crouched batting stances to hit over .300 in 15 consecutive seasons with the Twins and Angels achieving a .328 lifetime average. He was honored as American League Rookie of the Year in 1967 won the league MVP 10 years later and was named to 18 straight All-Star teams.

The offered Minnesota Twins home white pinstriped flannel was worn in 1971 by the first Panamanian-born athlete to gain admittance to Cooperstown's Baseball Hall of Fame. Carews number "29" is applied to the back of the jersey in navy and red tackle twill the same material that forms the scripted "Twins" that spans the chest. A team logo patch appears at left sleeve. Interior collar presents an embroidered swatch denoting year size and set: "71 - 40 - Set 2." Lower left front tail holds the proper "Wilson [size] 40" label. The jersey remains in superb original condition with its only notable fault being the absence of the bottom button. Game wear is apparent throught yet the jersey retains ideal presentation quality. Having played the overwhelming majority of his career during the "knit era" of Major League Baseball uniform history Carew flannels are in extremely short supply within the collecting hobby.
