Someone with an extraordinary appreciation of the old and the new and an eye for museum-quality artifact construction put together this homage to the historic 1971 All-Star Game in Detroit when Henry Aaron socked his first All-Star homer and Reggie Jackson propelled something barely short of a country mile. In a spectacular presentation that measures an imposing 30-by-24 inches the designer has married a dozen mostly Nr-Mt 2001 Upper Deck 1971 All-Star Game-Used cards of Johnny Bench and Hank Arron (2 each) Roberto Clemente Lou Brock Thurman Munson Frank Robinson Brooks Robinson Luis Aparicio Tom Seaver and Reggie Jackson (assortment of game-used jerseys and bats) arrayed six on top and six on the bottom of the piece. in the center are a 1971 All-Star Game Program press pin Official All-Star Game Fans Ballot full game ticket and a 2003 Upper Deck Patch Collection embroidered beauty that also gave a respectful nod to the game. With all components attractively matted in Detroit blue and orange (and white highlights) the result is nothing short of sensational. Just like the game was. Bonus items are slipped into a plexiglass pocket at the back of the frame: another full unmolested ticket (not quite as good seat location as the one in the piece but still same $8 price) and yet another pristine and totally unpunched All-Star Game ballot. And by totally unpunched we mean no hanging Chads or nothin'. No Jeremys either.
