From arguably the brightest star in the baseball galaxy of the postwar era comes this 1970 Mickey Mantle game-worn coach's jersey in his second year in retirement after a baseball career that couldn't have been scripted by Hollywood's most talented writers. A lifetime .298 hitter (he always despaired that his average had dipped below the magical .300 towards the end of his playing days) he ended up with 536 home runs 20 All-Star appearances seven World Series rings three MVP Awards and even the ultra-rare Triple Crown in 1956. With such awe-inspiring portent comes this super home Yankees shirt complete with a vivid blue Sharpie Mantle autograph - that very same robust and elegant signature that Mantle himself long contended he might have to provide to St. Peter in order to tip toe through the pearly gates - though Mick probably wouldn't have been asked to include the "Best Wishes" inscription as is the case with this jersey. The shirt boasts the expected Wilson Size 44 tagging on the back of the collar which also has some additional writing in black marker three letters or numbers that are difficult to ascertain. The shirt displays game use and is essentially problem free with the bold blue Yankee pinstripes neatly framing the iconic "NY" logo on the front and Mantle's famed No. 7 on the back.
