In 1970 the Baltimore Orioles ran away with the A.L. Eastern Division crown by posting a phenomenal 108-54 regular-season record. Led by 20-game winners Jim Palmer Dave McNally and Mike Cuellar the O's quickly found themselves back in the Fall Classic. After losing to the "Miracle Mets" the season before Baltimore rebounded nicely with a four-games-to-one trouncing of the N.L. Champion Cincinnati Reds this time around. After letting up a few early runs in Game 1 of the 1970 World Series Palmer settled into a groove and picked up a critical win in the opener on the road. It was a fine performance that paved the way for the O's the rest of the way.
Offered here is a beautiful Jostens 10K-gold size 10.5 salesman's sample ring that features a large CZ stone set within a raised-relief Memorial Stadium in the center with raised lettering on the outside that reads: "BALTIMORE ORIOLES WORLD CHAMPIONS." There are beautifully enameled shank designs including the O's cap baseball glove "1970" and J. Palmer "22" on one side and the American League logo and "A.L. Champions" on the other. "J 10K" is engraved inside the band. NM condition.
