Darel Carrier was selected in the ninth round of the 1964 NBA Draft by the St. Louis Hawks. However Carrier instead opted to sign with and play basketball for the Kentucky Colonels of the rival American Basketball Association (ABA). Standing 6 3 tall Carrier was a three-time ABA All-Star with the Colonels (1968-70) teaming with Hall of Famer Louie Dampier to form the most explosive backcourt in the ABA. In each of the league's first three seasons in fact both he and Dampier averaged at least 20 points per game. Carrier played for the Memphis Tams during the 1972-73 season and then retired from pro basketball with 7011 career points.

This lot features Carriers 1970 ABA All-Star Game worn warmup jacket. Competing for the East squad Carrier donned this zippered jacket during All-Star Game festivities at the Fairgrounds Coliseum in Indianapolis. The cream-colored lettermans style jacket is made of pleather and includes three stripes in black tackle twill across the right chest and shoulder. The back of the jacket reads EAST ALL STARS also in black tackle twill lettering. The jacket shows excessive use with staining and discoloration throughout. A single black-zippered pocket lines the front left tail. For the record Carrier scored two points and added a single rebound that evening in the East squads 128-98 defeat to the West. The number 31 appears on the inside rear collar in black marker although Carrier wore No. 35 for the Colonels.

Includes LOA from Darel Carrier.
