From The Pelé Collection comes this incredible original Type 1 photograph autographed by the Brazilian legend himself. The 7.5” by 10" photo shows Pelé posing on the pitch after his 1,000th career goal. With 80,000 fans packed into Maracanã Stadium in Rio de Janeiro on November 19,1969, Pelé knocked home #1,000 in a 2-1 Santos victory. As the final whistle blew, tens of thousands poured out of the stands. The legend was paraded around the pitch and carried off shoulder high. The celebration in Rio lasted days and the achievement merited equal billing on the front pages of Brazilian papers to that of Apollo 12 landing on the moon.

Adding even more value to this iconic image is Pelé's signature in bold blue marker on the front. The reverse is properly stamped by Svenskt Pressfoto (Swedish Press Photo) with a detailed slug. The photo has been trimmed by hand along the top edge, but remains in NM overall condition. Encapsulated by PSA/DNA as Type 1 with "Authentic" autograph.

The first rendition of memorabilia from his personal collection, Pelé The Collection, was offered in a highly publicized auction in June 2016. Once again, all items were personally owned by Pelé, making each piece truly one-of-a-kind. In the fall of 2022 at his home in Brazil, Pelé signed hundreds of items in the presence of his longtime agent and representatives from PSA. Many of these items were later slabbed by PSA with the special pedigree, “The Pele Collection". This second rendition was offered in May 2023 six months after Pelé’s death and was branded The Pelé Collection.
