After drafting Thurman Munson the Yankees assigned him to the AA Binghamton Triplets. Munson hit .301 with 6 home runs and 37 RBIs with the Triplets in 1968 making him the only hitter to hit .300 in the Eastern League that season (the Year of the Pitcher). Munson was invited to Major League Spring Training for the 1969 season. After missing most of the 1969 season to military service in the Army Reserves Munson was sent to Puerto Rico to play winter ball. He spent the 1969-70 winter season with the Los Nuevos Senadores Baseball Club. Presented here is Munsons official Puerto Rican League Players Contract to play for the Senadores for the 1969-70 Winter League Season. The contract is signed by Munson who has also written his home address and phone number. Dated August 29 1969. The signature rates 9 out of 10 minimally with all of Munsons writing in blue ballpoint. The contract has some of the light brown spotting typically found on paper from that region.
