ADDENDUM: Please note that the description for this lot has been updated. Players and coaches received watches not rings in 1968 for winning the National Championship. Based on the more modernized USC logo on the shank this ring was most likely made in the 1980's as an additional gift (anniversary perhaps) for members of the 1968 team. All physical elements of the ring are 100% accurate as described.
1968 University of Southern California NCAA Baseball National Championship 10K Gold ring given to outfielder Jay Jaffe. Coached by the legendary Rod Dedeaux in his 27th season the Trojans won their 5th College World Series defeating the Southern Illinois Salukis in the championship game. Large CZ in a baseball diamond atop a red stone surrounded by 'USC BASEBALL 1968 NCAA NATIONAL CHAMPIONS' on top. Raised 'TROJANS' and image of the USC logo on one side with raised 'JAFFE' '1' and crossed bat design on the other. Inside stamped 'LGB 10K'. Weighs 31.7 grams. Size 9.
