Wonderful looking 1968 Topps #280 Mickey Mantle signed base card offered here. The card's horizontal off-centering keeps it from attaining high-grade status as it received an EX+ 5.5 assessment from PSA. Mick's bold blue marker autograph got a rather harsh 8 grade from PSA/DNA as its thickness and careful placement give it closer to 9 eye appeal. Pop is three with only seven higher duals.

 

Provenance: Lots 41 through 57 (17 total cards) all come from a highly adept vintage card collector with an affinity for signed Hall of Famers on their trading cards. He started collecting these during a time when many card "purists" thought it was blasphemy. The Mick was always one of his favorites. From 1958 through his final Topps issue in '69, including base cards and his All-Star, MVP and multiplayer subset cards, all contain beautiful Mantle signatures and have been dual-graded by PSA.
