Offered here is a super rare 1968 Super Bowl II full unused ticket in PSA EX 5. It is one of only two white variation full tickets ever graded by PSA; the other being a PSA EX-MT 6. The game between the NFL Champion Green Bay Packers and AFL Champion Oakland Raiders was played at the Orange Bowl in Miami Florida on January 14 1968. The defending World Champion Packers posted a 9–4–1 record during the ‘67 NFL regular season. In the 1967 NFL Championship they defeated the Dallas Cowboys 21–17 in frigid sub-zero temperature at Green Bay in the memorable “Ice Bowl.” The Oakland Raiders finished the ‘67 season with a 13–1 record and crushed the Houston Oilers 40–7 in the 1967 AFL Championship game. In Super Bowl II the Packers continued their dominance of their AFL opponents with a decisive 33-14 triumph. Bart Starr earned MVP honors with head coach Vince Lombardi collecting his ninth consecutive playoff victory. Lombardi would not lead the Packers again as he moved on to Washington to coach the Redskins the following season.

The ticket is very clean ticket with outstanding color. It actually displays better in almost every way than its given PSA EX 5 grade. The only other white example in the PSA registry is graded EX-MT 6. There are 22 total Super Bowl II full tickets in the PSA registry and 17 are of the more common yellow variation. Of the other five two are white two are blue and one is a PSA Authentic example in an unspecified color. SMR evaluates white examples slightly higher than blues ($11500 versus $10K for PSA VG-EX 4).

This same PSA EX 5 ticket sold for $12438 in our Fall 2012 Auction. Considering the $36716 result attained by a yellow PSA NM 7 in our Fall 2015 Auction there’s no telling what this exceptional white SB II ticket could bring. The market is hotter than ever as indicated by our most recent auction sale of a 1969 SB III yellow ticket for a world record $59098.

Note: This ticket is part of the Super Bowl full ticket run in Lot 604. See that lot for details.
