The great Bobby Charlton is regarded by many as one of the greatest footballers of all time. Playing as attacking midfielder, left winger or striker, he helped lead England to its lone World Cup title in 1966, the same year he won the Ballon d'Or. Charlton finished second in Ballon d'Or voting in 1967 and 1968. He played nearly his entire professional career (1956-73) at Manchester United where his relentless attack, deft passing, and powerful shot with both feet became legendary. In 106 Caps with England, he tallied 49 goals. In 606 appearances for Man U, he scored 199 times. As it stands today, Charlton is one of just nine players to have won the FIFA World Cup, the European Cup and the Ballon d'Or.
