Featuredhere is a PSA EX 5 Gold Variation Full Unused Ticket to Super Bowl Ibetween the Green Bay Packers and Kansas City Chiefs played on January15 1967 at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. In June 1966 the NFLand AFL announced a merger resulting initially in the creation of atitle game between the two league champions at the end of the '66season. The Packers launched the Super Bowl series by whipping the AFLchampion Chiefs 35-10 behind the passing of Bart Starr the receivingof Max McGee and a key interception by All-Pro safety Willie Wood.Vince Lombardi's repeating NFL champions broke open the game with threesecond-half touchdowns. Starr completed 16 of 23 passes for 250 yardsand two touchdowns and was chosen as the game's Most Valuable Player.The Packers collected $15000 per player and the Chiefs $7500apiece--the largest single-game shares in the history of team sports atthe time.
This$12 Reserved Seat ticket is crease-free and very clean front andback with well-defined print imaging on the front. The corners are quite sharp and edges very straight. The only blemishes that we can see are a tiny brown spot near the top right corner and a subtle surface scratch just above the blue AFL call-out. It appears to be graded harshly. With apopulation of two and only seven gold fulls rated higher in the PSAregistry this EX 5 example is certainly a rare gem and represents alandmark event in sports history.
