Here's a jersey that quite fairly belongs in the front row of any collection. Bob Uecker's final season in Philadelphia near the end of a modestly successful 6-year major-league career would be the launching pad for a Hall of Fame broadcasting career and notable forays into television and feature films. The man who liked to boast that he had indeed once homered off Sandy Koufax - and hinted that such an ignoble incident might be enough to torpedoe Koufax's chances at election to the Hall of Fame - would parlay his broadcasting talents with side trips to Hollywood into a degree of fame and notoriety unheard of for a journeyman ballplayer with a .200 lifetime batting average and 14 career home runs. With such a pedigree comes this sterling 1967 game-worn road jersey. On the front left tail is the "Wilson" manufacturers Size 42 tag with wash instructions. In the back inside collar is the "Uecker 67" chain-stitched strip tag. All lettering of Phillies on the front and Uecker's No. 40 on the back are in burgundy chenille on white tackle twill with minimal fraying of the stitching primarily on the back number. The jersey shows game-use and appears to have no alterations of any kind. Uecker has added his distinctive autograph in black Sharpie on the lower front an enormous and spectacular signature measuring almost 8 inches across.

Pre-certified by PSA/DNA.
