The late Willie Daniel was a hard-hitting defensive back who played nine NFL seasons the first six of which were spent competing for the Pittsburgh Steelers. He registered 14 interceptions during his NFL career the first of 11 of which were secured in a Steelers uniform. This lot feature Daniel’s 1966 Pittsburgh Steelers game-worn “Batman" style home jersey that was worn during his final season in the Steel City. The black and gold dureen Rawlings jersey size 46 includes proper manufacturer’s tagging on the inside center front tail area. The first tag is a Rawlings tag which is flanked by two other sewn-on tags: “Pittsburgh Sports Shop Inc.” and a washing instructions tag. The jersey shows solid game use and includes Daniel’s uniform number “44” in white tackle twill on the front back and on both sleeves. The Steelers wore this "Batman" style just two seasons (1966-67) making any gamer from that era an extremely rare gem.
Includes Pittsburgh Steelers COA that matches hologram (#GU103456) on tagging.
