In 1966 the Baltimore Orioles managed by Hank Bauer finished the regular season with a record of 97-63 to win the American League pennant. They then swept the N.L. Champion Los Angeles Dodgers in four straight to win the teams first title in Baltimore. This was also the season that Os third baseman Brooks Robinson a.k.a. The Human Vacuum Cleaner picked up his seventh straight All-Star selection and Gold Glove Award. At the plate he racked up 167 hits through 157 regular-season games and knocked in 100 runs.
Presented here is Robinsons Baltimore Orioles game-worn home jersey from that unforgettable season. The flannel button-down jersey is all-original and except for the torn year/set tagging area on the jerseys left front tail remains all-intact. What's more it showcases ideal wear and a custom fabric under arms (with air holes) per Robinson's style. Identifiers of "Orioles" and the familiar number "5" appear in orange-on-black double tackle twill while his name on back (B. ROBINSON) is composed of black felt appliqu. Collar and sleeve openings feature orange-black-orange piping accents. Tagging on the left front tail provides the manufacturer's label (Wilson) and size (42).
