Comical June 1965 original photograph of "The Beatles" appearing as if they are behind bars. After it was announced that the famous rock band was admitted to the "Most Excellent Order of the British Empire – a special honor recognizing valuable contributions to the arts, sciences, philanthropy and public service – some British traditionalists were upset. This artistically staged photo mocks those naysayers in a lighthearted way. All four band members’ faces are perfectly captured in expressive looks with their classic floppy hairstyles.
