RESEARCH INDICATES HARDER DID WEAR NUMBER 59 AS INDICATED IN THE COLLAR SO THE NUMBER ON THE BACK HAS PROBABLY BEEN CHANGED1965 Chicago Cubs home flannel jersey worn by coach Mel Harder. Harder had a 20 year major league career stretching from 1928 through 1947 all with the Cleveland Indians. 13 of those years he won 11 or more games with 22-11 being his best mark in 1935. Large red stitch "CUBS" inside a blue circle on left front chest. Cub's head logo stitched on the left shoulder. All buttons original. Wilson tagged size 46 jersey has "59-1965-1-46" stitched in the collar. Light wear with a 1" tear just below the blue circle surrounding the red "Cubs" on the front. The tagging in the collar indicates the jersey number as "59" however on the back the number is "3" with no damage from the other number removal. Harder was the Cub's pitching coach for just the one year 1965. In pre-season guides such as Street & Smith he is listed as number "59". Outstanding condition Chicago Cubs home jersey from the 1960's.
