After breaking in with the Giants in 1951 Mays quickly established himself as one of the best players in the history of the game. Whether it was hitting for average blasting home runs making a spectacular catch in the outfield or stealing a base Mays was the prototypical five-tool player. A National League All-Star for an unbelievable 20 consecutive seasons Mays is one of only three players in the history of the game to amass over 3000 hits and 500 home runs. His 660 home runs ranks him fourth on the all time list trailing only his godson Barry Bonds Babe Ruth and Hank Aaron.

This 35" 33-oz. H&B game bat was used by Willie Mays during the mid to late 1960's. In 1965 Mays hit a career high 52 home runs and the offered bat bears the desirable scars of that type of power hitting. The "S2" model bat is composed of top-quality white ash and features the name "Mays" stamped on the barrel in well defined block letters. Mays' uniform number ("24") appearing on the knob in vintage marker is believed to be written in Mays own hand. The bat is uncracked and displays ideal heavy game use including numerous ball marks and grain swelling along the entire right and back hitting surface of the barrel. A moderate coat of pine tar is present on the handle and cleat marks are abundant on the barrel end. Mays has signed the barrel in green marker (9/10). All in all this is a picture perfect gamer used by the legendary "Say Hey" kid during his glory years in San Francisco so validated by a PSA/DNA perfect 10 grade.

Includes a LOA from John Taube of PSA/DNA (Graded GU10).

Pre-certified by PSA/DNA (auto.).
