The 1964 Topps Giants set consists of 60 cards each measuring 3-1/8” by 5-1/4”. The series was the company’s first postcard-size issue with each piece displaying a large color photograph surrounded by a white border and white baseball at the bottom right bearing the athlete’s name position and team. Card backs carry another photo of the player surrounded by a newspaper-style explanation of the depicted career highlight. The set is known for its inclusion of many Hall of Famers. However the 1964 Topps Giants were not printed in equal quantity and seven of the cards including Sandy Koufax and Willie Mays are significantly scarcer than the remainder of the set
Overall condition of this 1964 Topps Giants set is EX+ with bold gloss and mostly off white/white borders throughout. Most cards fall between VG-EX to NM. Key cards include #3 Koufax (SP)(HOF) VG-EX 11 Clemente (HOF) VG-EX+ 25 Mantle (HOF) NM 49 Aaron (HOF) EX-MT and 51 Mays (SP)(HOF) NM.
Also included with this lot is a 1970 Topps Poster complete set of 24 with HOFers Clemente F. Robinson Bench McCovey Brock Carew Santo and Niekro. Condition range is EX to NM with all having been neatly folded at one time.
