Willie Mays, the "Say Hey Kid" and widely regarded as one of the most complete all-around players the game has ever produced, is honored on this 1962 Topps National League All-Star card, graded PSA EX-MT 6. The warm wood-grain bordered design frames a classic batting-stance portrait of Mays in his San Francisco Giants uniform, issued under the Sporting News All-Star banner that ran throughout the set.

 

The reverse recounts his standout career to that point, including his 1951 NL Rookie of the Year honors, his .345 batting title in 1954, his 51-home-run, 13-triple season in 1955, and his unforgettable four-home-run performance against the Milwaukee Braves on April 30, 1961. It also notes his remarkable .425 batting average across eleven career All-Star Games. A handsome mid-grade example of an essential subset card for any serious Willie Mays or 1962 Topps set collection.
