Leo Durocher debuted in pinstripes with the 1925 New York Yankees and became the team's everyday shortstop in '28. Dubbed "The All-American Out" by Babe Ruth, it soon became clear his career in baseball would be in the dugout. Leo "The Lip" went on to manage for a total of 24 seasons and skippered four teams (Dodgers, Giants, Cubs and Astros) to more than 2,000 victories. After leaving the N.Y. Giants following the '55 season, Durocher worked as a color commentator for NBC before serving as a coach for the L.A. Dodgers from 1961 to '64. It was during that stretch that he wore this offered 1962 Dodgers home jersey.

The impeccably preserved creamy white flannel, which shows moderate wear, features a scripted blue felt "Dodgers" across the chest with a red felt No. "2," that digit repeated in blue felt on the back. The Dodgers would eventually retire this number in honor of another Hall of Fame manager, Tommy Lasorda. The lower left front tail is properly tagged by "Tim McAuliffe" with "'62" year and "42" size tags above an embroidered "Durocher" swatch. The button-up shirt remains in outstanding, all-original condition, with no moth damage whatsoever, having been carefully stored over the last half century. MEARS has blessed it with a perfect grade.
