Mickey Mantle has carefully signed his 1961 Topps #300 base card in strong black ballpoint ink. The card is clean and mid-grade (though assessed only "Authentic" here), save for a vertical print line. PSA has granted the autograph an 8 auto grade, but it has better eye appeal in our book.

 

Provenance: Lots 41 through 57 (17 total cards) all come from a highly adept vintage card collector with an affinity for signed Hall of Famers on their trading cards. He started collecting these during a time when many card "purists" thought it was blasphemy. The Mick was always one of his favorites. From 1958 through his final Topps issue in '69, including base cards and his All-Star, MVP and multiplayer subset cards, all contain beautiful Mantle signatures and have been dual-graded by PSA.
