Presented here is a lovely 1961 Amarillo Gold Sox Texas League Championship ring made of 10-karat gold. The ring displays an authentic diamond on top of a baseball infield design. Meticulously crafted, one shank has a baseball with "61" symbolizing the victorious year. The other shank features a prominent "T" embellished with a star to represent the Texas League, along with "19" to signify the 19th century. Part of the "10K" hallmark on the inner band has faded off. The ring comes in size 9 and weighs 21 grams. Definitely well-worn, it remains in great condition on the exterior. The Gold Sox, a former Double-A farm team of the New York Yankees from 1960 to '62, had a remarkable season in 1961. They boasted an impressive 90-50 record to run away with the Texas League title. The team was loaded with future N.Y. Yankees. Three-time All-Star and Gold Glove winner Joe Pepitone led the team with 21 homers, while Phil Lunz sported a .349 batting average and Jim Bouton hurled 13 complete games with a 2.97 ERA. Three others from the '61 Gold Sox went on to play in the big leagues.
