Don Hoak's professional baseball career spanned from 1954 through 1964, playing for storied franchises throughout. He was a part of the 1960 World Series Champion Pittsburgh Pirates, the same year that he was the runner-up for the N.L. MVP.
Presented here is a 1961-63 Don Hoak Hillerich & Bradsby 'U1' game used professional model bat. The bat exhibits evidence of outstanding use with a handle crack that has been repaired. Numerous ball marks are visible throughout the barrel. Also visible are red and green bat rack marks. 'U1' is stamped into the knob denoting the model. It's the same model with the smooth-ended knob notably used by Hoak's Hall of Fame teammate, Roberto Clemente. Weight 31.2 ounces. Length 34 inches.
Graded PSA/DNA GU 8 with a LOA from John Taube.
