At a time when the college game was arguably held in higher regard by the public than its professional counterpart the 1960 USA Mens Basketball squad represented the most spectacular aggregation of amateur basketball talent in history. It was an informal designation that would never truly be challenged: indeed even the modern Dream Team of 1992 might rival its predecessor by virtue of a greater PR campaign and a catchy moniker but this assemblage of Lucas Oscar Robertson Jerry West Walt Bellamy Terry Dischinger et al. created the template for international basketball dominance.
Presented here is a photo of the 1960 USA mens basketball team. It has been glued to a matboard and the players have signed the matboard many with the inscription "1960 Rome" or "Gold Basketball". All autographs are very legible and would rate a 9-10/10. Signatures include: Basketball Hall of Famers: Oscar Robinson Jerry West Jerry Lucas Walt Bellamy and the coach Pete Newell in addition the entire team was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame as a team.
