For Pittsburgh sports fans, it didn't get much better than the 1960 "Go Get 'Em Bucs". The well-balanced team had eight All-Stars, two Gold Glovers, the NL MVP (Dick Groat) and Cy Young (Vern Law) winners, and, of course, star right-fielder Roberto Clemente. But the most famous moment of all came on the final pitch of the World Series when Hall of Famer Bill Mazeroski hit a game-winning walk-off homer to beat the Yankees in Game 7.
Presented here is a PSA graded near-complete 1960 World Champion Pittsburgh Pirates team set from the 1960 Topps issue. A complete would contain 35 cards, according to the PSA Set Registry. All but three are included in this one. Clemente's #326 base card comes in at VG-EX 4, Maz's #55 base is EX-MT 6, Smokey Burgess #393 is EX-MT 6, and Jim Umbrecht's #145 rookie is EX-MT (ST) 6 to name some notables. There are three NM-MT 8 and three NM 7 examples as well. Only #115 Face/Wilhelm (Fork & Knuckler), #258 Dick Groat, and #437 Bob Friend are missing for completion.
