Brooks Robinson is widely regarded as the greatest defensive third baseman in MLB history. He earned 16 straight Gold Glove Awards (1960-75) and was selected to 18 straight All-Star games from 1960-1974 (including the multi-ASG seasons). In 1964, he was named American League Most Valuable Player after batting .317 with 28 homers and a league-leading 118 RBI. Robinson played his entire 23-year career with the Baltimore Orioles, leading his squad to four pennants and two World Series championships (1966 & ‘70). He was voted 1970 World Series MVP after batting .583 in the ALCS and continuing his hot hitting during the Fall Classic with a .429 average against the Reds.

Featured here is Brooks Robinson’s 1960 Baltimore Orioles game-worn road jersey, double-signed and amazingly well-preserved in 100% all-original condition. Adding more juice to this beauty is the fact that it has been conclusively photo-matched to multiple game images from his breakout 1960 season, including one at Yankee Stadium. At age 23, Brooks won his first Gold Glove and made his first two All-Star appearances, finishing with a .294 average, 175 hits, 14 HR and 88 RBI.

Each element is simply exquisite, from the wool felt “Baltimore” across the front in orange-on-black tackle twill cursive letters to his uniform number “5” in like fashion on the front and upper back. The gray flannel zip-up jersey has the classic Orioles logo on the left sleeve and Spalding tagging chain-stitched with “Set 1 6--” (missing ‘0’ digit for year 1960) on the front left tail. Inside the rear collar is a strip tag with “60 5 42” to denote the year, uniform number, and size. The first-ballot Hall of Famer has autographed the inner collar as well as the left shirttail in black marker. It shows outstanding wear with heavy pilling, spot-soiling on both sides, and sweat staining around the collar. Most importantly, there are no number/letter changes, no holes, and no moth damage to speak of. To our knowledge, this is the earliest known photo-matched Brooks Robinson all-original gamer ever offered publicly.

Includes photo-match paperwork from Sports Investors and LOA from PSA/DNA for both signatures.
