Among the most consistent lead-off hitters in Major League history Richie Ashburn was a solid center fielder and clutch hitter for the Philadelphia Phillies. Compiling more hits than any other player in the 1950's Ashburn hit over .300 during nine of his 15 seasons twice capturing the National League batting title and he concluded his career with a .308 lifetime average. His .303 average 180 hits and N.L. leading 14 doubles in 1950 were the catalyst for the pennant winning 'Whiz Kids'. One of the rarest of all post war Hall of Fame bats and especially tough when found autographed this Hillerich & Bradsby model C12 Richie Ashburn professional model bat is uncracked and shows evidence of outstanding use. Many ball marks and ball stitch marks are visible on the barrel as well as some scattered cleat marks. Measures 34 and weighs 30 ounces with a perfect black sharpie signature on the barrel.

Includes a LOA from John Taube of PSA/DNA (Graded GU8).
