The 1959 Fleer Ted Williams set remains one of the most beloved issues in postwar baseball card history, chronicling the Splendid Splinter's career in 80 cards. Card #55 — "1955: Ted Decides Retirement Is No Go" — depicts Williams alongside Red Sox GM Joe Cronin as he signs his contract to return from retirement, with the caption noting he came back in May 1955.

 

Both subjects have signed the card: Williams' signature appears prominently in black across the lower portion, while Cronin's signature graces the upper left corner. Encapsulated by PSA with a card grade of VG 3 and a PSA/DNA autograph grade of 7 overall. A wonderfully contextual signed card that captures an important moment in Red Sox history, signed by both principal figures depicted.
