Beautiful 1959 Ernie Davis Syracuse Orangemen 10K Gold NCAA Football National Football Championship salesman sample ring features a beautiful orange stone on top surrounded by "SYRACUSE NATIONAL CHAMPIONS 1959". On one side is "E. DAVIS" "WON - 11" "LOST - 0" "WARRIORS" and the raised image of a Syracuse football helmet. They other has "COTTON BOWL CHAMPIONS" SYRACUSE 23 TEXAS 14" "SALTINE" and a raised image of the Syracuse University seal. Inside stamped "JOSTENS 10K". As a sophomore Ernie Davis led the Orangemen to an undefeated season capping things off by being named Most Valuable Player in the Cotton Bowl. His Senior year he won the Heisman Trophy. Davis was the number 1 pick in the 1962 NFL draft but never played a down in the pros. That summer he was diagnosed with acute monocytic leukemia and died less than a year later. Ring size 12 1/4.
