Yogi Berra was the longtime New York Yankees catcher who not only helped the Bronx Bombers win 14 American League pennants and 10 World Series titles but who also made 18 MLB All-Star Game appearances. Offered here is Berras 1958 All-Star Game autographed H&B professional model R43 game-used bat. In the game which was played on July 8 at Baltimores Memorial Stadium the A.L. All-Stars defeated their N.L. counterparts by the score of 4-3 with Berra going 0-for-2 at the plate but making three putouts in the field.

The 35-inch 33.8 ounce bat which Berra continued to use after the All-Star Game as well shows excellent game use with ball marks throughout the right and back sides of the barrel. Green rack marks cleat marks and moderate pine tar on the mid-handle are also present. The bat was obtained directly from Berra by Scott McDougall a batboy for the Washington Senators during the 58 season. When Berra used it during a game at Washingtons Griffiths Stadium several weeks after the All-Star game he cracked the bat and McDougall scooped it up. The cracked section of the barrel has since been repaired. Berra also autographed the barrel of the bat in black marker: 3 Times A.L. M.V.P. Yogi Berra. For the 58 season Berra hit 22 home runs and knocked in 90 runs to help the Yankees reach the World Series where they beat the N.L. Champion Milwaukee Braves four games to three. This is a terrific gamer from one of baseballs most beloved players of all time.

Includes LOA from Scott MacDougal as well as PSA/DNA (GU8).

Pre-certified by PSA/DNA.
