The Yankees outlasted the Braves in a must-win Game 7, 6-2, thanks to a four-run eighth inning that took the hope away from the Braves. The Yankees earned their 18th World Series Championship over Milwaukee on this date, October 9, 1958. Casey Stengel also secured his record-tying seventh championship as a manager during this game.
