The 1957 Topps baseball set has always been rated highly by collectors for its beautiful simple design; the sharp clear photography; and the multitude of Hall of Famers and stars included. It is also the final time that youngsters would see their beloved Brooklyn Dodgers and New York Giants for the next season they would be thousands of miles away in a different time zone. This incredible set took more than a decade to assemble as our consignor meticulously searched far and wide for the best cards available. His criteria was not just the number on the flip more importantly for him what was the overall eye appeal. Many was the time he would change out one MINT PSA 9 for another if a better example was found. In going through this stunning collection of high grade 1957 Topps one gets the sense that there are many candidates for re-submission to move up that extra 1/2 grade. A total of 266 cards about 2/3 of the set are MINT PSA 9 including almost every key Hall of Famer and star. About 40% of the cards are tied for the highest ever graded by PSA with nothing rated higher. The remaining 1/3 consist of 56 NM-MT+ PSA 8.5's and 85 NM-MT PSA 8's.
