Offered here is a memento from one of baseball's most important moments in the game's history from the 1956 Word Series. Although it's not from the game 5 display of perfection from Larsen that would put the Yankees up 3-2 and help to extend the series to 7 games, it holds much more historical significance due to the unexpected finale to Jackie Robinson's career. The Game 7 ball offered here was used during that 9-0 rout of the Dodgers and would be Jackie Robinson's final game of his playing career. Shortly after the series, Jackie was traded to the New York Giants and refused to report and decied to hang it up for good. This game-used baseball was part of the action for that Game 7 and comes with a notarized letter from none other than series MVP Don Larsen, who decided to save a ball from the final game, not knowing it would be Jackie's last. The letter is signed twice by Larsen, and the ball is completely inscribed in Larsen's hand, with "Don Larsen 1956 World Series Game Used" on the sweet spot and "Yankees 9 Dodgers 0 Ebbet's Field Jackie Robinson's Last Game" on the panel below. Plenty of game use is displayed. A fantastic piece of baseball memorabilia for several historical reasons.
